A YORK choir will stage a special concert to mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War.
The Occasion choir’s concert, called Roses of Picardy after a famous song of the era, takes place at St Giles Church in Copmanthorpe, 7.30pm, Saturday November 8 Nicholas Page will be the accompanist ,Yvonne Robert will be the music director and TV presenter Geoff Druett will be guest reader.
The concert is in aid of the charity Blind Veterans UK. Tickets, £8, include a light buffet, call, can be bought by calling01904 701459.
