A NEW theatrical piece based around 100 years of war poetry will be performed in Selby on Wednesday.
The Hundred Years’ War covers poetry from the First World War, Korea, Vietnam, Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan, and is the first show in an Arts Council project called Northern Accent, which brings live events to small venues across the county.
Three performers from Belgrade Theatre will read works by Georg Herwegh, Wilfred Owen, Siegfried Sassoon, Michael Casey and Brian Turner, among others, accompanied by live and recorded music, at Selby Town Hall on Wednesday from 7.30pm.
Tickets are still available and cost £10 in advance, or £12 on the door. Tickets can be bought at the Town Hall, by phoning 01757 708449 or by visiting selbytownhall.co.uk
