THIS year is the 100th year of Scouting. All this year lots of different Scouting camps and activities are going on.
In May, the Tamasha camp takes place on Knavesmire for all Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers from York.
The World Scout Jamboree is this year being held in the UK. More than 40,000 Scouts from all over the world will be camping.
The 1st Holgate Griffin and Phoenix Cub packs have been challenged by their Akelas to complete 100 challenges. Some of the challenges are: invent a sandwich and eat it, make a musical instrument and find the length of a policeman's baton.
Another challenge is to get your name in the newspaper, so if you kindly print this letter I will complete another challenge.
Rosie McCarthy (aged nine), St Paul's Terrace, Holgate, York.
