YORKSHIRE Water is investigating after sewage flowed into several York gardens earlier today.
A company spokesman said it was contacted by three customers in connection with sewage in their gardens in Carr Lane, just off the A59 Boroughbridge Road, this morning.
"We understand sewage flooding is unpleasant and we are doing everything we can to deal with the problem as quickly as possible," he said.
"We will be carrying out investigation work on the affected area to clear any potential blockages which may of occurred on the sewer system.
"We are also working in partnership with City of York Council on a long term solution for the area."
The problem arises only months after a sewer collapsed in Carr Lane, causing internal flooding to a property. Repairs to the sewer led to the temporary closure of Carr Lane.
