A BELATED response to your article of October 21.
What mainly caught my eye was regarding Mr Gianni Crobeddu, with his problem over the pavement café area that was at one time situated on the market.
I find it strange that Gill Cooper has stated that Mr Crobeddu could not provide any evidence of such an agreement.
I was aware that such an agreement was in place from early to mid July 2011.
I was working in the Market Office in my capacity as city centre and markets assistant and had been informed by my colleque, Darren Lovatt, then senior markets officer, that he agreed for Mr Crobeddu to rent a space for him to create a pavement café.
This was considered a good deal for both parties, as it could provide additional business for Mr Crobeddu and benefit the market by using an area that was not being used.
