A MAN who tried to sell stolen jewellery has avoided jail.
The Recorder of York, Judge Stephen Ashurst, deferred sentencing Aaron Fairley, 20, for six months. He promised he would not send him to jail if he could stay out of trouble.
Fairley, of Barfield Road, York, avoided committing further offences, and on return to York Crown Court, the judge gave him a community order of 80 hours’ unpaid work.
Fairley pleaded guilty to fraud by trying to sell stolen jewellery.
