SILVER Street in York city centre is closed today from 8am while Northern Powergrid replaces a faulty underground cable.
It is expected to take 24 hours, but the electricity distributing company warns it could take longer.
The fault caused a blackout at 9.50am on November 10 which cut power to 287 city centre properties. Power was restored by isolating the faulty cable and setting up a temporary diversion in the network.
