AN East Yorkshire councillor is calling for local objections to wind farms to be listened to by planners.
Councillor Phyllis Pollard, chairman of East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s planning committee, wants the authority to write to Secretary of State Eric Pickles to ask him to make further changes to planning policy relating to onshore wind farms.
She said: “It is essential that local concerns are given greater emphasis in the determination of wind farm applications.
“We must ensure that we safeguard the amenity of local residents.”
