A COMMUNITY hub to offer a place to meet up and to combat loneliness and social isolation has been opened in Acomb.

The Community Café in Lidgett Grove Methodist Church runs every Wednesday from 9.30 to 11.30am and offers a variety of activities for all ages, from children’s crafts and song time, to a knitting table and newspapers for the adults.

There are also regular guests in, such as AgeUK, Healthwatch York, Community Policing Team and the Carr Estate Housing Manager to offer information and advice.
