HOW refreshing to read D Wardell’s letter. Two or three weeks ago I was having a coffee in Bishopthorpe Road, reminiscing of times I walked up and down there.

I lived in the area when my two girls were born – they are now 53 and 54 – and frequently visited all the shops mentionedl. Years on I also worked at the estate agents along there. Happy times.
