RE: Shopping street “not as good as it was”. Congratulations to D Wardell of Malton Road on keeping up one of York’s great traditions – grumbling about something even when you’re winning.

Surely one of the great achievements of Bishopthorpe Road is that it has adapted successfully over the years. What is wrong with a few foreign food cafés? Perhaps we no longer use the Chinese laundry or a sewing machine shop.

Can he not just sit back and congratulate the trades people of Bishy Road. It’s certainly a lot more interesting than Malton Road.
