OUR campaign to ensure family doctors retain the right to decide on their patients' treatment has won its first supporters - and received its first knockback.
The first members of the public signed our Let Your Doctor Decide petition yesterday.
But when we asked primary care trust members whether they would change their minds over plans to vet GP referrals if enough people were opposed, their answer was clear: no.
That was not unexpected. In the interests of patients whose lives we believe may be at risk the fight goes on.
