FIREFIGHTERS have rescued two young women who were trapped inside their overturned car after an accident near RAF Linton-on-Ouse this morning.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said the Ford Fiesta had ended up in a ditch on its roof following the single-vehicle accident outside the North Yorkshire airbase at just after 8am.
"A crew from Acomb and Huntington, along with an officer, attended," said a spokeswoman. "Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to release two females, who were aged 17 and 19.
"Both were released by fire crew and taken to hospital with minor cuts and bruises only."
