Head teacher, Richard Crane, welcomed parents, friends of the school and staff to an evening of music and celebration of achievement in all its forms - handing out year prizes as well as awards for, outstanding progress over the year in all subjects, 100 per cent attendance, subject prizes, excellent exam performance, contributions to school life and to the community among other categories.
Mr Crane said: “The school is so proud of all the students and proud that students, parents, staff and governors all worked so hard to achieve the best ever exam results.”
A special award, the David Harry Award - named after a student who died suddenly from a heart condition, went to Eleanor Leaper who has starred in both school and local theatre productions. After receiving her award she sang Losing my Mind by Sondheim.
