A WOMEN'S charity has marked its first birthday with a two-hour hokey cokey dance in York city centre.
Krya aims to provide non-judgemental support to all women, whether in crisis or needing to build confidence to make changes in their lives.
The charity worked in partnership with university students who have created SelfSame Theatre in York, which specialises in dance performances based around the female body, to stage the hokey cokey.
Spokeswoman Ann Pinsent said the dance was probably performed about 50 times between 1pm and 3pm on Saturday in St Helen's Square, with the public frequently joining in.
