TWO cyclists were hit and injured by the same vehicle which failed to stop at the scene.
The crash happened in Broad Lane in Cawood, near Selby at about 2.30pm on Monday, when the cyclists were travelling towards Long Lane.
They were both hit by a white Mercedes car which did not stop at the scene, leaving the two cyclist injured in the road and needing medical attention. The local man and woman aged 64 and 61, were taken to York District Hospital and released after treatment.
North Yorkshire Police said the vehicle lost a wing mirror in the collision which was left at the scene, and have appealed to witnesses, the owner of the Mercedes, or anyone asked to fit a wing mirror to a Mercedes since Monday to contact them.
