THE other morning on our way to an appointment for my husband, my car broke down on the outer ring road.
I had to pull to the side and text my daughter (I am deaf so only use text on my mobile phone) to ask her to contact our garage.
Suddenly the passenger door opened and a lady asked if we were in trouble and if she could help and used her phone to speak to my daughter too.
She said she had driven past us and saw we were an elderly couple, so went to the next roundabout and turned round and parked in the lay-by at the other side of the road, leaving her mother-in-law in her car.
She stayed with us until the garage man arrived quite quickly, who took us home one at a time (only one seat in his van) before going back for the car.
While the first lady was waiting with us, another lady pulled up behind us and asked if she could help. I was very touched by their kindness and thank them very much. Strange it was only women who stopped.
