A YOUNG burglar fled empty-handed after being bitten by his would-be victim's dog.
The youth broke into a house in Baildon Close, Acomb, but the 66-year-old householder found the intruder in the kitchen. The man's dog bit the youngster on the leg and he then ran off, police said today.
The incident happened at 4.5pm on Saturday, police said.
Police say the suspect is described as white, around 5ft 5ins tall, with short dark hair which was parted. He was wearing light grey tracksuit bottoms, a light-coloured v-neck jumper and a navy blue raincoat. He may have an injury to his leg as a result of the dog bite.
