THE new chief executive of York CVS will be Luke Barnett, currently director of business operation at Saint Catherine’s Hospice, Scarborough.

George Wood, one of York CVS’ trustees, said: “York CVS has a strong 75-year history of supporting and speaking out on behalf of local charities and voluntary organisations. The trustees were looking for someone who could continue this legacy and develop our excellent work and we’re delighted to appoint Luke.

“He has the perfect combination of experience and ideas to drive York CVS forward and lead us and the voluntary sector in challenging but exciting times.”

York CVS will hold its annual meeting on December 2 when it will celebrate its 75th birthday.
