YORK market being sited in Parliament Street while renovations to the old market square were made was a real eye-opener.
Parliament Street became a hub of the city again instead of a cycle park/army recruitment site/bouncy castle/defunct fountain area. No matter how much is spent on the old market square it is, and always has been, in the wrong place to encourage shoppers.
Most people in this city know this: how come our council members don’t?
