THE spectacular Advent Wreath at York Minster has been hoisted into place.
Children from the Minster School gathered yesterday to watch the wreath being prepared and lifted into place under the Central Tower.
Tomorrow is the first Sunday of Advent and the annual Advent Procession takes place at 5.15pm. The procession begins in darkness, and light spreads throughout the nave as candles are passed from person to person.
The service is open to everyone and tickets are not required.
Doors open an hour before the service and the service lasts about one hour.
