A MAN is due in court tomorrow charged with assault of a teenage girl at a York school.
North Yorkshire Police and the Yorkshire Ambulance Service were called to Joseph Rowntree School in Haxby Road on Friday after a man ran onto the school site and grabbed a 15-year-old girl.
The girl, who was unhurt in the incident, fought back and bit the intruder on the hand, and he left in the direction of Haxby Road, sparking a police search of the area for several hours.
A 27-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident late on Friday night and questioned by detectives investigating the assault throughout Saturday.
North Yorkshire Police confirmed today he was charged with assault, and will appear before York Magistrates' Court today.
