I WRITE this on returning from an aborted walk with my dog at 7.10pm. This was ruined by two large, noisy fireworks going off.
My dog is now sitting beside me shaking. It’s nearly a month since Bonfire Night. Can we do nothing about this? Why does the European Commission impose directives on all areas of our lives, yet does nothing about this horrendous imposition on our peace?
As we live near the university the fireworks may have been set off by students. When we lived nearer to the university, there was never any response to any phone call or email.
Many animal owners must suffer like this. When are we going to have sanctions on this practice? What the hell do we have to do to get it stopped?
If any reader has an answer, please suggest it, as we are at the end of our tether with a bouncy Lurcher who needs his walks.
