I WAS privileged to attend the In Flanders Fields concert held at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre on November 23.
This concert was arranged by York Musical Theatre Company and the Thirsk Royal British Legion Band, with every member delivering music, songs and prose with great feeling and respect for those who “fell” during the First World War.
Special praise must be given to Moira Murphy, who wrote, devised and directed the facts, figures and stories within the poetry, prose and music appreciated in the concert, including personal memories of families and individuals involved in these terrible times.
This was a moving event and appreciated by those of us who attended.
