A SOAP star left Coronation Street behind to visit a care home in York at the weekend.
Alan Halsall, who plays mechanic Tyrone Dobbs in the long-running soap, visited York Care Home in Ebor Court on Saturday with his wife and fellow Coronation Street actress Lucy-Jo Hudson, who plays Katy Harris.
The pair joined residents and staff for a Coronation Street-themed afternoon, with some members of staff dressing as Street residents, past and present including.
A spokesman from Ebor Court said residents had been looking forward to the visit.
They said: "Our residents love watching Coronation Street so they will be really excited to see Tyrone in real life.”
Alan and Lucy-Jo signed autographs and memorabilia for residents and staff, and took part in a raffle.
