THRILLED residents have switched on their own dazzling display of Christmas cheer.
Wigginton’s Twin Pike Way has attracted hundreds of visitors to see thousands of festive lights lining the cul-de-sac’s houses and gardens in years gone by, and 2014 is no different.
Organisers have dubbed the street Twinkle Pike Way and are using the display to raise money for two worthy causes.
Visitors are being encouraged to make a donation, with all the money raised being shared between St Leonard’s Hospice and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance service.
Sue Miller, fundraising manager at St Leonard’s Hospice, said: “Twinkle Pike has become as traditional a part of Christmas in York as Santa and Christmas pudding, so we’re delighted the residents are once again decking their houses with lights to raise funds for charity.
“Do go along and be amazed by the spectacular show – and please give generously, too!”
