BRINGING empty homes back into use will remain a top priority for East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
The authority has reinforced its position during the week a national campaign gets under way to tackle the number of vacant properties.
The Empty Homes charity wants premises to be brought into use for the benefit of those in housing need. In October 2014, East Riding of Yorkshire contained 152,161 dwellings, of which 4,105 were empty homes; 1,528 of these are classed as long-term empty, meaning they have been empty for six months or more.
