BISHOPTHORPE Road seems to grab all the headlines, so it’s good to see Gillygate making the news.
The street will be renamed Jollygate next week for a festival of live music and evening Christmas shopping. You can even swap receipts for a glass of mulled wine.
It’s good to see the shops teaming up to create more trade, something we have seen working so well elsewhere, especially in Bishy Road.
Who knows, on this showing it could follow suit and be named the next Notting Hill of the north.
