ORDINARILY, I would enjoy the attentions of a triad of experienced councillors all eager to set my mind at rest on any matter falling within their remit.
Lately, I feel abandoned. Councillor A is unable to reply to my emails (I understand he is busy packing).
Councillor B is incommunicado (I have been warned by the council monitoring officer not to ask her difficult questions).
Councillor C insists he “cannot help” and moreover “does not know” whether he is “the appropriate person to do so” (I respect his honest diffidence).
In cases such as this, what is required is a political locum, or “Flying Councillor”, to fill in when residents find themselves temporarily denied representation.
This important post demands “a councillor who seeks to represent the electorate to the best of his ability and to do his best for the city”.
Is not Councillor Galvin (Letters, November 27) the very man?
