THE victim of an assault in York has been urged to contact police.
Witnesses reported a man being assaulted by two other men near Munroe’s Bar in Gillygate at about 5am on November 23.
The victim was dressed in dark clothing and ran off in the direction of York St John University. It is thought he sustained serious facial injuries.
Officers said the attack is linked to an altercation shortly afterwards between three people – two men and a woman – outside Munroe’s when homophobic abuse was shouted at people inside.
An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of affray and has been released on police bail.
