PROUD parents and relatives turned out to watch as pupils at Poppleton Road Primary School performed their Nativity.
The four and five-year-olds in the two Reception classes threw themselves into rehearsals for the show, which they staged for the whole school in their dress rehearsal on Tuesday, before treating visitors to two performances on Wednesday.
Early Years teaching assistant Lisa Turnbull said all of the 49 pupils had had a role, and worked hard to learn their parts.
"The show was lovely," she said. "I have worked in Early Years for about five years, and considering they have only been in school since September, the children never cease to amaze us with how they learn their lines, learn where to stand and how well they perform. They loved doing it."
* If your school, nursery or play group is performing a Nativity, festive show or carol concert, please email pictures of the cast and performers to photographers@thepress.co.uk, and we will try to include them in the paper.
