A YORK school has put a different twist on the annual nativity play.
Angel Small by author and composer Karen Langtree had its first ever live performance at The Mount Junior School.
Angel Small is aimed at Key Stage 1 pupils and Karen is Author in Residence at The Mount.
She said: “I’ve been working with the children, and it has been very interesting to see how they have interpreted the play. Their enthusiasm has been bubbling from the start of rehearsals. All the way through their performance , you could see their faces shining, from the little ones all the way up to the older girls. It just goes to show, as the theme of the story says, that it doesn’t matter how small you are, everyone is special.
“What has been most satisfying throughout the rehearsals has been seeing the children going about their daily lives and singing the songs, either at work or between classes. That has brought it all to life for me,” she said.
“There is a certain joy in seeing others find enjoyment in something you have created.”
