The first snow of the winter is expected to fall in North Yorkshire and York this weekend as temperatures repeatedly drop below zero overnight.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning of snow and ice for the whole of Yorkshire and the Humber starting at noon tomorrow and extending until lunchtime on Monday.
It is also warning that upland areas could see wintry showers today and tonight.
York's first snow is forecast for tomorrow night when blustery showers are forecast along with temperatures dipping a couple of degrees below zero.
The Met Office is also expecting high winds later in the week with a second yellow weather warning now in force for all of Wednesday.
