THE reason that people vote for Ukip is because it is the party that will get us out of the EU (Liz Edge, The Press, November 21).
The people of this country have suffered four and a half years of austerity measures to keep the economy strong.
Now we’re being penalised from Brussels to pay even more into the EU.
If David Cameron had kept his word, and had a referendum in 2010 when he gained power, he would have got the answer.
There would be no need for a Ukip party, but he shot himself in the foot by doing a U-turn. If he gets the vote next year, I wouldn’t trust him not to do the same in 2017.
I saw the destruction of this country after six years of war, and how it rebuilt afterwards.
We didn’t need the EU then and we don’t need it now.
In any case, we didn’t join the EU, we were forced into the “Common Market”. As for being made a laughing stock, we already are as a cash cow.
