THERE is everything but a casino in York.
For the people who like a financial flutter, there is lots of choice to have a gamble. The racecourse, a selection of bookmakers, hundreds of outlets selling scratch cards, the Lottery and so on. Why no casino?
Is it political or is the church against it? There must be a logical reason.
Collecting my usual four daily newspapers, the chap in front of me purchased no fewer than ten scratch cards; his choice, it’s a free country and all that.
York is a tourist city and a large amount of tourists love a casino, whatever country or city they are visiting.
Legally can the planning department put a stop on a casino? There must be a reason. Comments welcome.
