MORE than eight million people passed through York train station in 12 months, making it the third-busiest in Yorkshire.
A staggering 8,223,421 commuters, holidaymakers and day-trippers used the station between April 2013 and March 2014, according to figures from the Office of Rail Regulation (ORR).
Leeds was the busiest station in Yorkshire and the Humber with 27 million entries and exits while Sheffield was second with 400,000 more visits than York.
Huddersfield and Doncaster completed the top five.
