A FORMER city centre footwear store has been reoccupied by another shoe retailer.
The former Barratts Shoe store in Feasegate has been vacant since the company fell into administration in December last year.
After being vacant for a year, the shop, has now been occupied by Birmingham-based retailer Cloggs.
Chris Thomas, managing director at Cloggs, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be opening our flagship store here in York.
“What drew us here over all the other cities in the UK is the fact that it is home to so many independent shops and offers so much more than the usual high streets up and down the UK.
“It’s such a popular place, especially at this time of year, and we are hoping that the pull of York and all the extra activities it hosts will help us get customers through the door and introduce them to Cloggs.
“It’s a beautiful city, full of character and charm and we look forward to bringing our collection of brands to the York consumer. They clearly have an eye for quality and we hope they will enjoy the full range we offer.”
