FUNDRAISERS are hoping to raise more than £3,000 for York Against Cancer with a trip on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
A total of 350 passengers will travel to Whitby from Pickering on Sunday, December 28, after tickets were arranged with staff at Sainsbury’s Monks Cross.
This is the third year York Against Cancer have organised the event and Sainsbury’s are supporting the charity with donations of drinks and snacks for the journey.
Paul Mitchell, store manager said: “York Against Cancer are our Charity of the Year, chosen by our customers and colleagues. We are supporting them in many ways but this event in particular sounds like a great day out and we are happy to donate towards the day.”
Julie Russell, from York Against Cancer, said: “We are a local charity and it is great to be supported by our local branch of Sainsbury’s. We are very appreciative of their generous support this year and in particular with this event.”
Tickets are still available from the YAC office on 01904 764466, costing £20 for adults, £10 for children with a family ticket costing £45.
