H MASTERS (Letters, December 8) quite rightly makes the point that there are diverse reasons why a number of Labour councillors have been deselected, or have resigned from the party recently.
Those of us who are merely council taxpayers can only look on from the wings, and, with the help of The Press speculate on what may have been going on behind closed doors without reference to other councillors, and more particularly to the electorate.
Nevertheless, surely it is more than a mere coincidence that so many councillors appear to have gone in such a short space of time. Surely this is indicative of some deep dissatisfaction with regard to the manner in which the Labour-led council has acted over recent months.
