IMPROVEMENTS will be made to a bridge and roads on the border between East and North Yorkshire.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has been awarded £1.5m towards the improvement to Newland Bridge, which takes the A645 over the River Aire. Work is expected to start in the spring and should be completed during the autumn of 2015, and the bridge will be closed for the duration of the work.
A diversion will be in place between the A614 at its junction with the eastern part of the A645, the A1041 and the western section of the A645 to Drax village for all traffic except HGVs.
