YET another expensive outside consultants’ report from Arup (The Press, December 20) on York’s future population growth. Another dollop of ratepayers’ money down the consultants’ drain.
The report details the city’s population in 2037, and the article shows our political leaders accepting the figures unchallenged.
So many things locally, nationally and internationally, can affect who comes and who leaves the city.
People might be deterred from living here when they hear of the things such as the Lendal Bridge fiasco. Housing needs have to be dealt with according to what the current situation is, not some “expert’s” guess.
And please, City of York York, use your own expertise and ditch those costly outside consultants, who know as much as the town hall cat.
