A YORK man has celebrated his retirement after 62 years work as a manufacturing chemist.
Trevor Watson has worked in the veterinary pharmacology business around York for his entire working life, since joining the former Bleasedales Manufacturing Chemists on Colliergate on January 5 1953.
His six decade long career saw Mr Watson work for various drug manufacturing companies including the Veterinary Drug Company, later White Rose Pharmaceuticals and Dunlop's.
He set up and ran his own firm, before retiring from Haxby based Vetsonic UK Ltd after ten years of service this year.
On the Wednesday, December 17 Trevor was joined by many old friends at a dinner in his honour at The Wentworth Arms Hotel in Old Malton.
Managing Director of Vetsonic UK Ltd, Ray Rochester, presented Trevor with an engraved and mounted brass ships bell to remind Trevor of his days in the Royal Navy, before he became involved in the pharmaceutical industry.
