THOUSANDS of pounds in funding has been secured to help a homeless scheme.
North Yorkshire County Council has teamed up with Harrogate Borough Council to increase its funding to the No Second Night Out project by £30,000, matching Harrogate’s donation.
The No Second Night Out (NSNO) scheme supports some of the most vulnerable people in Harrogate to stop people spending more than one night on the streets.
The scheme was set up using a three-year fixed grant from the government and funding comes to an end next year.
County Councillor Don Mackenzie, executive member for public health, prevention and supporting people, said: “Although budgets are tight, the county council wants to target resources at the most vulnerable people and we are pleased to have worked with Harrogate Borough Council to jointly support this important scheme for Harrogate.”
