A GARDEN shed in York's South Bank has been destroyed by fire.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said the blaze, which happened at a property in Queen Victoria Street at 5.11pm today, was thought to have been caused by an electrical fault.
A spokeswoman said the fire in a 2 X 3 metre shed, which was used for domestic storage, was tackled by firefighters but caused heat damage to the rear of four properties.
She added that the service received nine 999 calls from the public about the blaze, some of which wrongly suggested a house was on fire with people inside.
