SHIPTONTHORPE village hall committee is inviting people from nearby towns and villages to take a tour of Shiptonthorpe’s seventh living Advent calendar.
The living advent is based on a Swiss tradition where villagers take it in turns to illuminate one festive window in their house throughout December.
All of the windows remain lit from dusk until 10pm until the end of December. An Advent windows candle-lit walk will take place tonight, leaving the village hall in Station Road at 6pm.
Soup and rolls will be served by Market Weighton Young Farmers in the hall after the walk. The cost is £2.50 for adults, and children go free, funds raised go to the village hall.
