FOOTPATHS in Pocklington are to be widened as part of a £34,000 scheme.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is launching a programme of works to widen two footways in Market Street, Pocklington, and add a new loading bay.
Work is scheduled to start on Monday and is expected to last four to five weeks, weather permitting.
There will be no road closures, and any disruption will be kept to an absolute minimum.
The council has consulted with local shop owners in preparing the scheme, and has written to them to inform them of the programme of works.
An East Riding of Yorkshire Council spokesperson said: “This work will greatly improve Market Street and the shopping environment.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this short programme of work, and ask businesses and residents to bear with us while we complete these improvements.”
