I TOTALLY agree with the letter from Matthew Laverack regarding his condemnation of the Labour Party in their short-sighted policy of insisting that the next candidate for York at the general election must be a woman, regardless of whether she be the best candidate or not.

I trust he will not get into trouble for the last paragraph of the letter, when he refers to Big Brother rather than Big Brother/Big Sister.
