CAN it really be that City of York Council is selling York Theatre Royal; even if only for £1, isn’t this a departure from the usual script?

Surely the building should be demolished and replaced at Monks Cross with an expensive new structure at huge expense to taxpayers?

The community stadium complex has already been expanded to include new swimming facilities, restaurants, shops and cinemas. It won’t be a complete leisure centre without a theatre, will it?
