I AM dismayed at the contempt that some dog owners have for the law.

My husband and I were cycling along the River Ouse path, near Rawcliffe.

We had just crossed under the road bridge and came across a pile of bags of dog faeces. Also in evidence further along the path were little black bags of dog faeces that dog owners had dropped.

I cannot see the logic that some dog owners use, that they are able to put their dog’s faeces into a bag, but cannot be bothered to carry it home, or to the nearest bin. What is the point of putting it into a bag if it is not taken away?

Perhaps council tax should be raised in order to pay for someone to pick up the bags, or to buy bins for such items. Or perhaps the council could consider putting cameras along the path in order to catch the perpetrators?
