DETECTIVES say they had a good response from local residents to their latest appeal for help in solving the disappearance of Claudia Lawrence.
A steady stream of people turned up on Wednesday - the sixth anniversary of the University of York chef going missing - to watch previously unscreened CCTV footage on a giant digital screen near her home in Heworth.
The film showed a person walking down Heworth Place, which leads to the back of her house, moving out of camera shot and then reappearing just over a minute later, apparently carrying a bag over their shoulder.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said yesterday: “We had a good response from local residents and we are very grateful for their continued support to the Claudia Lawrence investigation.
"Detectives are now assessing the information as part of ongoing enquiries.”
